Data Centres & Network Infrastructure
All of the Timewade Secure Online Backup Storage Platforms are hosted using a combination of IBM secure data centres and fully resilient network infrastructure.
The backed up data, held on the Primary Storage Platforms, is replicated every 15 minutes and is transferred (via the IBM private network) to the Mirror Storage Platforms in a second remote data centre. The data centres are housed in highly secure disaster recovery buildings, owned and managed by IBM Business Continuity & Recovery Services.
The most important features of these disaster recovery buildings are:- Private fully secure data centres.
- 24-hour security with monitoring of all access within the buildings by CCTV.
- Restricted access within buildings, controlled by swipe card access systems.
- Multiple, redundant mains power feeds with UPS and generator backup.
- Fire suppression systems.
- Monitored Air Conditioning.
The data centres are linked directly to a ultra reliable, dedicated hosting network, which has multiple, high speed fibre optic connections to Cable & Wireless, Energis and Level3 Communications, our Tier 1 Internet Backbone Providers.
These multiple Internet connections are bound together and managed using Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) technology, which provides full systems redundancy.
