That’s right. One in five of us say we’re ‘Tech Ninjas’ adept at everything from mastering the intricacies of a conversation with Alexa or Siri in a public place to pimping our smartphone with apps for mindfulness, relentless exercise, time management and everything in between.
How do we know? Because that’s what you’ve been telling us in the Technology for Success survey!
Just to be clear, it’s not a survey about ninjas it’s a survey about technology! We are gathering data for what we hope will be a fascinating report into how companies are using technology now, alongside future trends, which will be helpful to the region’s business community.
It’s obviously a lovely thing to be part of. But not only that. Complete the survey and you will get a copy of the final report that sets out your scores benchmarked against business averages, so you can see how your organisation is performing, and where the gaps and opportunities are.
And the fun doesn’t stop there! Take the survey for a chance to win one of TWO prizes – an Amazon Echo Dot and a pair of Exeter Chiefs tickets to the match against Wasps at Sandy Park on Saturday 30 November.
And of course, just for fun, you get to rate yourself as a tech numpty all the way through to a tech ninja! So, be part of something special and get involved. Data is anonymised and we’re working with Tech South West to review the findings and report back to the business community.
Technology for Success survey – the story so far…
Thanks to everyone who is taking the Technology for Success survey. It’s too early to have definite conclusions and we don’t want to spoil the surprise, but here are a couple of key highlights we can reveal to you.
Most of us (95%) realise that improving IT systems and use of technology is very or extremely important to their long-term business strategy. That makes sense. But, there’s a bit of a gap with reality because only 58% are actually similarly prepared to improve their IT systems and use of tech! When you look at the pace of change around technology, and its uses across organisations, is that a worry? Probably.
Also, it’s official, IT crashes still happen. 54% of respondents say their business has experienced operational downtime in the last 12 months. That’s not good.
The survey is also starting to reveal which technologies you believe are the most important for your business today, and which will think will become more important in the next five years. But we’re going to wait a week or two longer before revealing that.
So in the meantime, if you have 10 minutes, do contribute and take the survey. You also get your own copy of the final report, with your results benchmarked against business averages. Plus you have a chance of winning a Amazon Echo Dot or a pair of tickets for Exeter Chiefs vs Wasps on Saturday November 30. “Alexa! Alexa! What are the top business tech trends I should be putting into this survey…”
